A secret way to hidden Gem crafted in gold

Amid hustle of classes, assignments, study sessions, and the constant rush between buildings, finding a peaceful spot to recharge, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a good coffee can be a challenge. Ask Mark, 25-year-old student, where to find one.

A Slice of Italy! It has all that we look for. A hidden gem nestled on the edge of the ECU Joondalup campus, quietlyserving students and staff for over 20 years.

Inviting interior of the must visit canteen
An inviting environment

Located in Building 9, right next to Birra Bar and the Police Academy, A Slice of Italy might not be on your everyday route—but that’s exactly what makes it special. 🌟 Owned and managed by Rob, a young, energetic, and confident personality, the canteen offers a refreshing break from the fast-paced campus flow. It’s more than just a coffee stop; it’s a calm and welcoming space where students like Mark can unwind after long sessions, enjoy authentic pizza 🍕, and feel part of a close-knit community 🤝.

What makes it special?

Let’s talk about food first. A Slice of Italy is known for its authentic Italian-style pizza—crispy, cheesy, and full of flavour 🤤—and a smooth cup of coffee ☕ that regulars swear by 🙌. It’s the kind of place that values quality and simplicity, making every visit feel like a warm, familiar experience 🏡. The return patronage is high, which speaks volumes about the consistency and care Rob puts into the service 💯.

But the real magic ✨ lies in the atmosphere. Unlike busy food courts and crowded study areas, this canteen is a peaceful hideaway, ideal for focused study, quiet lunches, or simply relaxing with friends. Its location may be away from the main ECU foot traffic, but for those who’ve discovered it, it’s become a regular part of campus life 💫.

Why haven’t people heard much about it?

Despite its long-standing presence and loyal customer base, A Slice of Italy remains relatively unknown to many new students. 🤔 The main reason? Location. Tucked away from the central hustle, it often escapes the notice of those who stick to familiar paths 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️.

That’s why now’s the time to explore. 🔍

Why should you visit?

Whether you're a new student or someone who’s never wandered that far across campus, A Slice of Italy is well worth the detour. It’s not just about grabbing a bite—it’s about discovering a space that brings comfort, flavour, and connection to your ECU experience 💖.

So next time you’re looking for a quiet spot or craving something delicious, take a stroll to Building 9. 👟 Meet Rob, try the pizza 🍕, sip the coffee ☕, and let this little slice of Italy become your new campus favourite 🌟.
