TikTok has definitely been a growing social media platform since the lockdown. Here in Australia, 2.5 million or 10.5% of the population are TikTok users in 2020 with 70% of its users in the Gen Z to Alpha.

Apart from its wide variety, entertaining, and irresistible video content (Oh, believe me. I could scroll for hours!), users have been trying to maximise TikTok’s earning potential by becoming an influencer. Here are the 3 things you need to know before jumping into this digital marketing trend:

1. Find your perfect niche 🎯

Okay, real talk now Will – we really can’t please everybody amirite? Think hard about the TikTok niche you want to build and start investing your time in them. Spoil them with engaging and consistent content. In no time, they will repay you with loyalty and support.

2. Offer unique and disruptive content 👏🏼

Most TikTok users seek out-of-the-box and original content. From trending dance challenges to food recipes to beauty glow ups, search it and you’ll find it on TikTok! Now the challenge is, how will you make yourself stand out amongst everyone? A good start might be your unique hobby or passion.

3. Just be YOU!💯

Trust me and Kim Cattrall – you can never go wrong with this one. TikTok users value authenticity. With the challenging pandemic and restricted human connection, people naturally relate to genuine influencers. It’s okay to take inspiration from others but do not be a copycat! Embrace and show your followers who you really are and why you are worth it to be followed.

Follow these tips by heart – by staying true to yourself, finding your niche, and offering unique and disruptive content – you’ll defo become TikTok famous and get paid for doing what you actually love! Good luck on your journey as a digital influencer and don’t forget to share this post.
